John Wilson works to drive the developmental vision for the STEM programmatic objectives of the Let Girls Read, Run, Grow Foundation.
Raised in a small suburb of Charlotte, NC, opportunities were few and far between for the development of the youth. STEM was always a part of his story, growing up with a father that was a handy in various facets (home, automotive, etc). This led John to pursue engineering in his post-secondary studies. An uncle to three girls, he is an advocate for women in STEM fields, and a mentor to his nieces and other young women who pursue engineering.
John is thrilled to be a part of an organization to assist in girls become better versions of themselves to become the leading women of the future. He finds great joy in being able to pass on any lessons he has learned, that may benefit another.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Morehouse College and Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University; in addition to a Master of Science in Engineering Management from UNC-Charlotte.
John has worked various roles in the upstream Oil & Gas sector and resides in Houston, TX.
